MODERN MIDLIFE 017 – From Makeup Artist to Beauty Queen at 55
This week on Modern Midlife, I talk with Suzi Dent about midlife and coping with its challenging ups and downs.
In this episode, Suzi shares how marital discord threatened to overwhelm her. To cope she started taking long walks and listening to self-development books. As she made changes in her own life she saw the impact that made on her husband. Shortly after making a decision to get out from behind the scenes as a makeup artist and spend time in front of the camera, she was so surprised to get a call asking her to participate in the Mrs. Earth Australia pageant that she broke out laughing on the call.
That was the beginning of the journey for this self-professed tomboy who never wore frocks, as she calls dresses, to become a beauty queen at the tender age of 55. Suzi is a makeup artist, coach, motivational speaker and former Mrs. Earth Australia and Mrs. Earth Health. You’ll enjoy Suzi’s energy and joy for life that comes through loud and clear in our discussion.
